Our apartment building has a really nice courtyard. Bubbles and Farley (the neighbour's cat) enjoy hanging out there. They especially like dozing in the shade of two big old green plants that make for the best cat-naps.
Last week our landlord decided that the plants were getting too big and that they needed to be cut down. Now, I agree that they needed to be cut back somewhat. But was this really necessary? Here is a 'before' picture. (Click to biggify)
And the 'after' picture. Does that not look sad?
Here is a 'before' picture of the other plant. This picture was actually taken during hurricane Rita last year.
And once again, the'after' picture.
I guess we just have to wait patiently for the plants to grow again. *Sigh*

OMGosh! How terrible! And terrible looking! I'm puzzled as well. Why not just trim them back a bit, not cut the whole darn thing down to the ground! I'm really upset about this...lol, and I don't even live there. You tell your landlord we're upset about this! ;)
It is a good thing you kitties weren't outside when that happened. You could be bald!!!
I spose he's tryin to clear the stairway and windows, but it does seem extreme. Plants useyoually grow back, but someone cut back a big hydrangia at Mom's werk, then someone else pulled what was left as weeds. Now it's just dirt.
If that guy comes back fur more trimmin, haf B & B put the bitey on him.
I hopes they grow back soon.
We're glad that our Mom and Dad like the natural jungle look in our yard. (Actually our garden has been on native plant society garden tours a few years ago.) So many places to hide or nap!

Gosh, the "after" photos look rather naked! I hope they grow back fast!
Too bad about the plants. Big plants are perfect to hide under. Bubbles and Mrs. B are lucky to have such a nice outdoor place to go at your apartment. All ours has a parking lot and Mom says it isn't safe for kitties out there. *sigh*
Oh, Mrs. B is only allowed to go downstairs into the courtyard when she is supervised 'cause she is not that outdoor savvy.
Bubbles lived here as a stray, so he is allowed outside certain times of the day.
That is terrible. My mom and I don't like it at all when people start cutting down perfectly good growing things. Where will the birdies live? And all those fun insects? And snails, and lizards? It's just not right.
What a shame about those plants! You're going to have to be real paitent for those to grow back.
Just glad you guys are OK!

tha "land-skapin" seems ta be a little on tha extreme side, a light trimmin would be purrfect.
