As you can see, nothing interesting is happening around here. No more operations and Mrs. B is settling into her Diet.

Stop with the Flashy Thingy!

The last couple of days have been pretty laid-back. Today is only 88 degrees, so by Louisisana standards it's practically cool. I was hoping to take some nice pictures to post today, but the cats are not in the mood. I think they are getting annoyed with the flashy thingy, so I'm giving them a break.


Oh, Meowmie, enough already.

I have OCCTBD

It is official! I have OCCTBD (Obsessive Compulsive Cat Toy Buying Disorder). I believe I have mentioned several times before (here, here and here) that I love to buy toys for Bubbles and Mrs. B. The problem is that they don't like to play with the toys I buy. And yet I don't stop buying them! So the only solution is for me to play with them myself.


Last night Bubbles got into the cube for about 2 minutes. I think he just wanted to make me feel better, since he could see that I was disappointed that they don't like it. I like it! One day I'm going to find a toy they like! It has to be something they can play with by themselves. It is my mission. Any suggetions?

Man Cat vs Altered Cat

I recently came across an old picture of Bubbles that was taken when he was still a real MAN cat. Just look at his mane. He looks mean. Since I bought my digital camera, I actually totally forgot that there was still film in my old camara. The picture was taken about 3 years ago, but I only developed it this year!

And here he is after he became his Mommy's little (altered) man cat. He does not like to talk about the "alteration", so we came to an agreement. I will continue to call him a man cat, and he will not try to prove his manhood by spraying the furniture.

Bubbles Video

Bubbles has been complaining that Mrs. B is getting all the attention. She's had TWO videos and he's not had a single one! He wanted to make sure everybody knows that he does not look like this anymore. He does have a big scar, but that just makes him even more handsome.
Every evening when I go to bed, we have a playing session. He really enjoys it, and as soon as I switch off the TV and go to the bedroom he runs in, and dives on the bed. I started the playing session 'cause I want him to stay inside more and this tires him out so he does not meow to go outside when I go to bed. He still wakes me to go out at 4 am, but I'm happy that he is spending more and more time inside, and less outside. Just don't let him hear that I want to make him an indoor kitty.

Mrs. B and the Yellow Milk Jug Thingy

As I've mentioned before, it turns out that Mrs. B likes to play with those milk jug thingies. She got the crazies the other night, something she never used to do. She is also more vocal lately, so I think the diet is doing her good.

Gourmet Kitty Salad

Mrs. B loves to eat grass, but I'm a bit lazy to plant the grass. I usually just buy that grass you plant yourself from Walmart. But that grass always looks a little sad to me.


So now I have decided to buy some grass, Katnip and Kat Mint and try and grow some for Mrs. B on the windowsill. I don't exactly have green thumbs, although I work with plants everyday (that's a whole other story!). Well, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully Mrs. B will soon have some nice greens to gnaw on.

Mrs. B works for her food

See, I do feed Mrs. B. She just has to work a little harder for her food. Don't worry, it is only her daily treat I put in the ball, otherwise she just gobbles them up in 2 seconds.

Tummy Rub?

Since everybody was showing off their tummies on Fat Eric's Blog, Mrs. B wanted to also show hers.


You can see more of her tummy here and here. As you can see, she loves to show it off. However it is strictly forbidden to touch The Tummy. Since she is on the dreaded D-I-E-T now, she wants to show it while she can. I hope it will soon be The Tiny Tummy.

Everybody already knows the rules, so we'll get staight to the Five Weird Things / Habits About Bubbles.

1. He runs away from all beans, except his Mommy and Farley's Mommy (his sitter when his Mommy is away).
2. He wakes his Mommy every morning at 4 am to go outside.
3. He likes to climb trees. He climbs the pine tree staight-up to about 15 feet and then reverses down.
4. He is a great hunter. His record is 3 mice and a dove in one day. All of which he brings into the house, usually still very much alive (for his Mommy to save).
5. He loves his Mommy more than anything, even tuna. His Daddy says he is turning into a real mommy's boy.

Another toy the cats don't want to play with

After seeing all the fun Oreo had with his tunnel, I decided to get one for Bubbles & Mrs. B. But as usual they could not care less! Apparently I will just never learn that I love cat toys more than they do.Well, at least Misty and Dusty seemed to enjoy the tunnel.

Collar Question

I am hoping to get some tips from the other cat owners out there about putting a collar on Bubbles. Although I have had cats my entire life, this is the first time I've tried to put a collar on one. I've tried this before, but he just lost his collar (and tags). So after I removed the e-collar, I thought this would be a good time to try once again. I posted pictures of the collars I've tried, but he got both of them off after a couple of days. Are these not good collars to use? Am I not putting it on tight enough (I put it on so I can still get my finger in between the collar and his neck)? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Is it feeding time yet?

Mrs. B is very thankful for everybody that is concerned about her "starving". I think at this moment she is hoping someone will adopt her.
She does not believe me that she is getting enough food and that the only thing that changed is that instead of always having food in her bowl, I'm now putting food in her bowl (only) 4 times a day.
I can put everybody's mind at ease that she is not wasting away. And she even get treats every day so it cannot be all bad.

Why is my bowl empty?

Mrs. B is not at all happy with her diet. Here she is wondering why her bowl is not being refilled.

And she is showing me her emaciated stomach in the hope that I'll feel sorry for her.

Mrs. B plays!

I have said so many times that Mrs. B does not play at all, and yet here are pictures of what took place this morning. And what was the toy she loved so much? It was that little plastic ring from a milk jug! She just loved it. Did you notice the "real" cat toys around her? Well, I'm glad she found a toy she likes. Hopefully it will help with the D-I-E-T.

The Evidence

I have come to the sad decision that Mrs. B needs to go on a DIET. She weighs about 15 lbs. She needs to weight about 10 lbs. Don't think I have not tried to make her lose weight before, but I'm too much of the softy. But today her diet starts, and this time I am determined!
