Guilty Cat?
Does this look like a cat caught in the act? Click on the picture to get a better look at the expression. It looks awfully guilty to me. Do you think she had a sip of my coffee?

Mrs. B on Kat's Cat of the Day
Mrs. B is very honored to be on Kat's Cat of the Day. The truth is she was a little jealous when Bubbles was the cat of the day. It may have been my imagination but a couple of times it looked like she was checking out her butt and wondering whether it was a little too big. But now everything is fine and she is feeling very good about herself (and she is contemplating a few extra treats today).

African cat-heaven
Babatjie and Crinkle asking for food. When they were living with me, they were given dry catfood only. However, my parents tell me that they are so spoiled now, that they want only human food, or wet catfood. They are really living in cat heaven in Africa. They can go outside to play if they want, and it is save for them since the house is far from any traffic. And there are no wild animals that would pose a real threat to them. There are plenty of mice, birds and "jungle" to play in. Crinkle is very afraid of his nemesis, our dog Nero, but the dog is confined to certain areas, so plenty of space for cats to play outside. If they don't want to go outside they have a big house with plenty of soft couches and sunny spots for comfortable napping. And naturally, humans that love them and are there to take care of their every whim. Surely this must be heaven.

Bubbles, the Dark Side
Sometimes, we forget that our little fuzzy friends are really killers. Here is Bubbles with a dove he caught. Since I love all types of fuzzy and non-fuzzy animals I don't encourage this kind of behaviour at all. I have saved countless mice from his claws. And he likes to bring them into the house still very much alive and then I end up with mice living under my refrigerator. I had to buy humane traps to catch them, so I could let them go free outside. I'm sure he is very proud of his prize, but I could really do without having to move all the furniture in my apartment to save yet another hapless mouse. At least he is not catching as many anymore. When he first started to live with me, he was a ferocious hunter. His record is 3 mice and one dove in one day! Now he rarely brings any trophies home. And I'm very thankfull for that!

Back Home
At last I'm back home. I always feel guilty about leaving my poor babies alone, although I have a very reliable person that feeds them when I'm away. I always think that they must miss me as much as I miss them. When I opened the door they both looked at me, yawned, gave a lazy stretch and went back to sleep! So much for them missing me.

Toys for my cats
I love buying toys for my cats. However, the cats are not very interested in the toys I buy. The only thing they like is the teaser and that realy means that they are playing with me. I'm trying to get them toys they can play with when I'm not here. So yesterday I bought them a turbo-scratcher, since several people told me their cats love it. They showed no interest in it what-so-ever!. Today, Farley, my neighbors cat came over and had a great time with it. Just look at the expression from Bubbles and Mrs. B. And look at all the other toys lying around (that they also have no interest in).

Bubbles, on Kat's Cat of the Day
Bubbles is very flattered to be featured on todays Kat's Cat of the Day. It also tells the story of how he came to live with me. Check it out.

Crinkle, guarding the fridge
Crinkle loves human food and spends most of his time close to the fridge in the hope that somebody will see what a skinny little cat he is (not at all!) and feed him something. He will settle for some wet catfood if the humans are so cruel that they keep all the good food for themselves. "Don't the humans see my emaciated stomach?!"
