Well, at last the hated E-collar has been removed, and so have the stitches. The wound looks OK and should heal well, if he does not scratch too much. It looks like it will leave a big scar though.
I also took this opportunity to put a regular collar on Bubbles. I've tried before, but he hated it. However I am hoping he will be so glad to get rid of the e-collar that he won't mind too much. In any case, it gives him something else to scratch, instead of the wound.

Last days of the Coned Crusader
Today is the last day of the E-collar! Bubbles has been a very good boy and has adapted to the collar very well. However we will both be very glad when this adventure is over. We have an appointment tomorrow at 9 am to have the stitches removed. That should also be the end of the collar. Right now he is outside soaking up the sun.
Last night he was out patroling his territory (with me a few steps behind).

Feeling better all the time
Bubbles is doing better all the time. The collar still frustrates him, but at the moment he is more irritated that I don't allow him to go out whenever he wants. At the moment I don't want him to go outside unless I can go with him. He is also getting spoiled since I'm giving him wet food. My cats NEVER get wet food, so it is a real treat for him.

Feeling a little better today
Bubbles is feeling a little better today and don't seem to totally hate me anymore. He is slowely getting used to the evil-collar. I let him out today, even though I'm not suppose to. It seemed to perk him up. Right now I'm sitting outside with the laptop, watching him taking a nap under his favorite plant. I would much rather be inside where it is nice and airconditioned, but am not comfortable with leaving him outside alone since he still sometimes gets a bit freaked out by the collar.
First thing this morning I went out to buy some of Deb's patches. Unfortuanately they would not stick real well on his wound. I think it is just at such a bad spot, with lots of hair around. They stuck just fine on me (yes, like any good Mommy I tested them on myself first!). So it looks like for the the time being we'll have to live with the collar.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Bubbles is getting all the treats and "tuna water" he can handle. Now if you can send some cooler weather so that it is more comfortable for me outside babysitting him, that would help. :-)

I hate my Mommy

Off to the Vet
I dropped Bubbles off at the vet this morning for his operation. He was not impressed at all. He could not understand why his evil mommy did not give him his snack last night before bedtime. And no breakfast! He was making crying sounds all the way to the vet. Hopefully I can pick him up again late this afternoon.

Misty & Dusty
After hearing about the plight of the poor Green Wall Shelter Kitties, I decided to visit my local shelter to see whether they have any kitties in need of a home. And low and behold, there I found Misty and Dusty, all alone with a scary sign above them saying, in big red letters, S A L E. That did not sound good to me, so I quickly scooped them up and brought them home. They have not met Bubbles and Mrs B yet, but I'm sure everyone will get along fine.

Bubbles going for an operatiion
I visited the vet yesterday, and Bubbles needs to go for an operation on Thursday. He has a cyst on his head, that we have been treating for a while, but that is now going to be removed. Afterwards he will have to wear one of those cone-thingies for 10 days to stop him from scratching! I just know he is going to hate it and will try to get it off. He really hates going to the vet. When I take out his carrier, he tries to run away and he makes the most heart-wrenching yowls all the way to the vet. He is also going to have his teeth cleaned and get a microchip. I hope everything goes well.

Breaow Mix
A couple of nights ago I suddenly heard a loud Breaow comming from the direction of the kitchen. I looked in that direction and saw Bubbles staring at me. He slowly closed his eyes in the "I love you" gesture, then threw back his head and demanded Breaow! I eventually figured out that he wanted a treat. He is a very picky eater and did not like any of the treats I bought previousely. He does not even like human food, except maybe Arby's Beef. However recently I got an innocent looking Ocean Explosion sample when I bought my regular Meow Mix. And he is now officially addicted to it. He doesn't want his regular food, his just wants his Breaow Mix -and yes, cats do ask for it by name!

Mrs. B showing her belly
Mrs. B was so excited about all the tuxedo cats on Kat's Cat of the Day in the last couple of days that she just wanted to show everybody her belly. By the way, look in the links section, I added some Fuzz family links.

Farley
I'm looking after Farley for a couple of days, cause his Mom is away. He's such a sweetie and no trouble at all. He pretty much have the same routine as Bubbles, so it all works out fine. They are both in the courtyard now, enjoying the cool morning breeze before the Louisiana summer heat kicks in. Then they will both go to their nice air conditioned apartments until it cools down at night. Ah, the life of a forever-home cat!
